About Sam

Sam Whelan-Curtin Communications Consultant & Video Producer

Sam Whelan-Curtin

Communications Consultant & Video Producer

Specialising in working with Social Sector organisations, I provide a range of Communications and Media services to my clients. I work with clients to develop their message, know their audience and create compelling works to communicate and convince.

I focus my work on video production due to its unique power as a means of showcasing projects. I operate both individually and collaboratively with other specialists so there is no project too big or too small.

Amongst my clients are Genio, Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, Social Innovation Fund Ireland, Dublin Wel Woman Centre, the DCU Ryan Academy, and the School for Social Entrepreneurs Ireland. My work has been shown at the United Nations and has been awarded at the Eir Spider Awards.

I am also a director of the Fumbally Exchange and a leader in the Data4Good movement.

what people say

" We have found Sam to be unfailingly professional, flexible and sensitive in his approach to film-making. He has often pulled out the stops under pressure to help us meet deadlines. He works brilliantly with our team as well as taking initiative and understanding our needs. He is a great listener and intuitively puts those around him at ease, especially in situations where a camera crew might seem intimidating.
Fiona Murphy
Communications Manager, Genio

what people say

" Sam's positive attitude, advocacy experience and his professional experience made him a fantastic asset to Nasc's anti-racism youth project. His ability to present information in an accessible and engaging manner led to the group feeling confident enough to share their own experiences. Sam's ability to create a non-judgmental environment brings out the best in the person on the other side of the camera. Nasc would highly recommend him to any organisation.
Kevin O'Leary
Project Officer, NASC

what people say

" When with Suas, Sam produced a series of videos chronicling our different programmes tacking educational disadvantage in under-resourced communities in Ireland and Overseas in a really compassionate and genuine way. He has an extremely human and engaging touch when interacting with the children and volunteers being filmed that captures the positive elements of these interactions. Great empathy with the subject.
Martin Tomlinson
CEO, Suas Educational Development
